On 08/18/2022, the Supreme Court, pursuant to the Court’s power of superintending control, placed Hon. Samantha Madrid on indefinite administrative leave with pay. The Commission filed a Petition for Immediate Temporary Suspension Without Pay on 08/22/2022 which the Court granted in part and denied in part on 01/06/2023. The Commission filed a Petition to Accept Stipulation to Permanent Resignation from Judicial Office in Lieu of Further Disciplinary Proceedings on 01/24/2023. On 01/24/2023, Respondent, Judge Madrid, filed a motion to seal the file. The Commission filed a Response to Judge Madrid’s motion to seal on 02/14/2023. The Court granted the Commission’s petition to permanent resignation and approved the stipulation on 02/17/2023 and ordered that the matter remained sealed pending a ruling from the Court. On 04/11/2023, the Court granted the Commission’s request to unseal the matter, denied Respondent’s motion to seal and ordered the matter unsealed.
